While ‘complications’ — functions beyond simple time-telling — can make a watch much more interesting, they don’t necessarily have to make it much more expensive.

Movado once made various complicated watches featuring chronographs, moon phase displays, calendars, and more. While most of these were mechanically powered, some were in fact quartz. The Reference 87-03-862 from the 1980s-1990s fits into this mold.
